Museum Heritage and Science Educational Program 2026
Saturday, 4 April 2026 – The Sarawak Museum Department would like to express its deepest appreciation to the students and accompanying teachers from SM Sains Kuching led by Puan Rajemah Binti Sariee, and SMK Simunjan No. 1 led by Puan Dayang Siti Dzalifah Binti Awang Walip, for their presence to make the Museum Heritage and Science Educational Program 2026 a success in conjunction with the Helios temporary exhibition held at the Borneo Cultures Museum.
The presence of the delegation was welcomed by the Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, Puan Nancy Hj Jolhi together with the Heads of Divisions, where the Director also delivered a speech before continuing with a souvenir presentation session. This knowledge-building program continued with a guided tour of the Helios gallery and temporary exhibition, followed by a "Curator Talk" session presented by JMS Curator, Dr. Zakirah Binti Mohamad Taufek in the afternoon.
This sharing session aims to attract students to participate in the fields of museology, conservation, and heritage research by exposing them to the application of science behind historical preservation. Through direct interaction with curators, students are inspired to see a career in the cultural sector as a dynamic and challenging professional field, in line with today's technological modernization.
