Friday, 23 February 2024: The Sarawak Museum Department (JMS) held the 2023 Appreciation Night Ceremony held at Ballroom 1, Sheraton Hotel, Kuching.
The ceremony was officiated by the Honorable Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who is Sarawak's Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts & Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development.
Also present to enliven this event were the Honorable Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister of Creative Industries & Performing Arts, the Honorable Datin Melinda Claudia, the Honorable Datu Sherrina Hussaini, Permanent Secretary of the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, and the Honorable Mrs. Nancy Jolhi, Director of the Sarawak Museum Department.
A total of 300 people consisting of department heads, Members of Sarawak Heritage Council and Sarawak Museum Department staff as well as the media also attended the ceremony.
The purpose of this ceremony is to give awards and appreciation to the Sarawak Museum Department staff who have served with excellence in 2023, retired and soon to retire and those who have moved departments.
At the ceremony, a total of 28 Sarawak Museum Department staff received awards and appreciation at the ceremony, consisting of 20 recipients of the Excellent Service Award, 3 future and retired staff and 5 staff who have moved departments
