Program Special Talk: Interpreting Borneo in Britain and Sarawak

Saturday, 24 January 2026 - The Special Talk Programme: Interpreting Borneo in Britain and Sarawak was officiated by YB Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak, at the Auditorium, Borneo Cultures Museum.
This programme was jointly organised by the Sarawak Museum Department and the British Museum, in line with the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed in November 2024 in London to strengthen cooperation in the field of research, knowledge sharing and museological practices related to Borneo collections.
The sharing session was presented by S.P. Shaw Curator for Southeast Asia at the British Museum, Dr. Alexandra Green, together with Dr. Jennifer R. Morris from the British Museum.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak, Mr. Morshidi Fredrick, Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, Mrs. Nancy Hj Jolhi, representatives of government agencies, NGOs, public higher education institutions (IPTA), researchers and related industry players.
