Wednesday, 7 May 2025 - Sarawak Delta Geopark (SDGp) is in the process of obtaining recognition as a UNECO Global Geopark, and a Mock Audit session was held with the Expert Panel in preparation for the official assessment by UNESCO expert assessors.This simulation audit was led by YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Dato Dr. Ibrahim Komoo.
This Mock Audit session was also attended by YB Datuk Haji Len Talif Salleh, Chairman of the SDGp Steering Committee and Director of the Sarawak Museum Department YBrs. Puan Nancy Jolhi in preparation for the assessment.
Among the places visited were the Borneo Cultures Museum, Bukit Maras Archaeological Heritage Site, Bongkissam and Sungai Jaong. The Sarawak Museum Department was also invited for the assessment at the Tuang Semeba Schist pitstop to explain the Gazettement of this site as a heritage site under the Sarawak Heritage Ordinance, 2019.
