Abstract:
Using census data from 1939 to 1980, this chapter compares and analyses socioeconomic indicators in seven areas with comparisons by ethnic groups. Further methodological studies of such indicators in the context of quality of life are also presented in this chapter, reviewing the approaches, methods and issues of defining and computing them.
