JASAMU Club Annual General Meeting - 24 Mar 2025



     Wednesday, 19 March 2025 – The JASAMU Club held its Annual General Meeting at the Borneo Cultures Museum Auditorium. This meeting was an important platform for club members to discuss annual activity and financial reporting.
      Also present was Mrs. Nancy Hj Jolhi, Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, as the Advisor to the JASAMU Club, who provided full support for the club's journey and activities. In addition, this meeting also witnessed the election of a new Exco for the 2025-2027 session. Congratulations to the new Exco line-up who have been appointed. May this leadership continue to lead the JASAMU Club towards greater success.
    After the meeting adjourned, the Sarawak Museum Department's Iftar Ceremony was held to strengthen ties of friendship in a blessed atmosphere in conjunction with the month of Ramadan. Mrs. Nancy Hj Jolhi also took the time to hand out Raya biscuits to the staff of the Sarawak Museum Department.
     In addition, at this event, farewell gifts were also presented to Mr. Polymer Anak Saban and Mrs. Kazimah Binti Roslan, who will be moving to a new department. Thank you for your services and contributions to the Sarawak Museum Department. May you continue to prosper in your new place.
Bubur Lambuk Distribution Program JMS 2025 - 24 Mar 2025


     Friday, 14 March 2025 – The JMS 2025 Bubur Lambuk Distribution Program has been successfully implemented. The bubur lambuk was presented by the Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, Puan Nancy Hj Jolhi and the Heads of Divisions to all JMS staff. Thank you to everyone involved in preparing and distributing bubur lambuk as well as to everyone who attended to enliven this program. Hopefully, programs like this can further strengthen friendships and increase cooperation among JMS staff.
Museum Educational Program 2025 Bersama Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah dan Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Hj Othman Abdul Wahab - 24 Mar 2025



       Saturday, 8 March 2025 – Deepest appreciation is extended to Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Hj Othman Abdul Wahab for their participation in the Museum Educational Program 2025 which was organised by the Sarawak Museum Department at the Borneo Cultures Museum.
        Throughout the programme, students had the opportunity to explore the permanent galleries at the Borneo Cultures Museum, which showcased various aspects of Borneo’s history and culture. They also visited the temporary exhibition Pristine Seas: Bringing the Ocean Back by National Geographic, which provided exposure to marine life and the importance of ocean conservation.
        Before the visit began, the Head of Heritage Management Division, Mr. Iswandi Bin Junaidi, delivered welcoming remarks to the participants. Next, he presented souvenirs to the accompanying teachers from Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah, namely Cikgu Roysan Anak Tagas, Cikgu Jessica Anak Lee, and Cikgu Christine Tang, as well as the accompanying teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Hj Othman Abdul Wahab, namely Cikgu Adibah Binti Abdul Latif, Cikgu Nor Nasuha Binti Mohd Shukeri, and Cikgu Mohd Anuar Bin Yusoff. Students also received souvenirs as a token of appreciation for their participation in this program.
     Hopefully, the students will gain valuable knowledge and experience and continue to be interested in learning about history, culture, and environmental conservation.
Qatar Ambassador's Visit to Malaysia at the Borneo Cultures Museum - 04 Mar 2025

 
Wednesday, 26 February 2025: Thank you to His Excellency Salah Mohammed Al-Sorour, Ambassador of Qatar to Malaysia, for his willingness to visit the Borneo Cultures Museum. He was accompanied by officials from the Qatar Embassy. During the visit, they were given a guided tour led by the Head of the Museum Services Division, Ms. Yasmin Khalid Nicholls to get to know Sarawak's history and heritage more closely. Hopefully this visit will be a meaningful experience and leave sweet memories for them
Sarawak Museum Department's Briskwalk Program - 24 Feb 2025

 
    Wednesday, 19 February 2025 - In conjunction with the year 2025, the Sarawak Museum Department has emphasized sports and recreation among staff to keep them healthy and fit. Through the JASAMU sports club, the Briskwalk program was held led by the Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, Mrs. Nancy Hj Jolhi.

    The program started with a warm-up session led by Mr. Rhemy Romeo Jamal, Mr. Mohamad Hazwan Bin Mohamad Daud, Mr. Fugerson Anak Sokolinka, Mr. Ervin Kaik Anak Irex, Mr. Melban Anak Sinding and Mrs. Miliah Binti Sukimin. Next, a Briskwalk session was held starting from Level 2 BCM Concourse up to Taman Perpaduan and turning back to BCM Concourse 2.

     This event not only strengthens friendships but also invigorates the spirit of a healthy lifestyle. May we continue to be active and fit together. Thank you to all the staff who have supported this program. See you again in the next program.
Visit from Supreme Court Judges led by the Chief Justice, YAA Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat to the Borneo Cultures Museum. - 20 Feb 2025

 
      Ahad, 16 Februari 2025: Borneo Cultures Museum telah menerima kunjungan daripada Hakim-Hakim Mahkamah Atasan yang berada di Kuching sempena Mesyuarat Majlis Hakim-Hakim Kali ke-58. Lawatan ini diketuai oleh Ketua Hakim Negara, YAA Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, yang turut disambut oleh Pengarah Jabatan Muzium Sarawak, Puan Nancy Hj Jolhi. Turut serta dalam lawatan ini adalah YAA Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abang Iskandar bin Abang Hashim, Presiden Mahkamah Rayuan, YAA Dato’ Sri Hasnah binti Dato’ Mohammed Hashim, Hakim Besar Malaya dan YAA Tan Sri Abdul Rahman bin Sebli, Hakim Besar Sabah dan Sarawak. Bangladesh High Commissioner's visit to Malaysia at the Borneo Cultures Museum - 18 Feb 2025

Visit of the Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia at the Borneo Cultures Museum - 17 Feb 2025


Friday, February 14, 2025: We express our deepest appreciation and thanks to His Excellency Shikata Noriyuki, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, for his willingness to visit the Borneo Cultures Museum. His arrival was greeted by the Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, Mrs. Nancy Hj Jolhi. Throughout the visit, he followed a guided tour session by the Curator of the Sarawak Museum Department. Hopefully this visit will give him sweet memories.
Sarawak Museum Department Director's Mandate Council 2025 - 10 Feb 2025

 
    Monday, 27 January 2025 - The Sarawak Museum Department has organized the 2025 Sarawak Museum Department Director's Mandate Meeting held at the Borneo Cultures Museum Auditorium.

     The ceremony began with a speech by Mrs. Nancy Hj Jolhi, Director of the Sarawak Museum Department, who presented the vision, hopes and direction of JMS for the year 2025. Next, Mr. Mohamad Ariff Azahari was invited to give a motivational speech to give encouragement, inspiration and encouragement to all the staff present.

    In addition, the event was also graced with a singing performance by the talented JMS staff and a few lucky draws. A photo session was also held as a sign of memory. The Mandate Ceremony was attended by all JMS staff from all departments either physically or via Zoom. Hopefully this event will be a starting point for continuous efforts in strengthening the services and excellence of the Sarawak Museum Department.
