KUCHING, 4 February 2019 (Monday) – More than 80 students from local and international universities will be participating in the “Night at the Museum” program organized by the Sarawak Museum Department in collaboration with the Faculty of Language and Communication, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on 8 and February.

The program is part of the four-day International Intercultural Expedition Camp (IIEC) organized by UNIMAS. It requires participants to spend one night at Sarawak’s Natural History Museum and the Art Museum that are aimed to engage students in exciting and fun activities.

Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is expected to officiate the event, which will be participated by students from Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Yemen, Libya, Pakistan and Malaysia.

According to the acting director of Sarawak Museum Department, Encik Suria Bujang, the program will expose students to the unique arts and cultural heritage of Sarawak.

“It is important for Sarawak Museum Department to actively promote museum to members of the public, especially younger generation so that they can learn and appreciate about the history of the nation,” he added.
